Why Air Fryer Baked Potato Works

Crispy Skin: The air fryer’s hot, circulating air creates a perfectly crispy skin, just like you’d get from the oven, but without the long wait.

Faster Cooking Time: Air frying cuts down the cooking time significantly, giving you that baked potato texture in nearly half the time of traditional oven baking.

Versatile and Customizable: Air fryer baked potatoes are a perfect blank canvas—top them with butter, cheese, sour cream, or any of your favorite toppings to suit your taste!

Ingredients:

  • 3-4 Russet Potatoes
  • ¼ cup sliced green onions
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

Cooking Process

First, cook the bacon until it’s nice and crispy, then allow it to cool completely. Once cooled, slice it into small bite-sized pieces for later.

Next, wash your russet potatoes thoroughly, making sure to remove all the dirt. Use a fork to poke holes all around the potatoes to allow steam to escape.

Now, coat each potato with a light layer of olive oil, ensuring it’s evenly covered.

Generously season the entire potato with salt for that perfect crispy skin.

Salted Potato

Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees(200°C). Place the seasoned potatoes inside and cook for 50 minutes, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.

Air fryed

After 50 minutes, carefully remove the potatoes from the air fryer. Use a knife to make a clean incision down the top of each potato.

Apply gentle pressure on both ends of the potato to split it open, revealing a fluffy center.

Add three pads of butter inside each potato and let it melt into the hot, steamy flesh.

Buttered Potato

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Then, top with shredded cheddar cheese for that extra layer of flavor.

Finally, finish it off by adding a dollop of sour cream, crispy bacon bits, and freshly sliced green onions for a burst of freshness.

Pro Tip: Serve these loaded baked potatoes alongside a juicy steak or a holiday roast for an unforgettable meal!
