Why Garlic Parmesan Stuffed Mushrooms Work
Flavor Combination: The earthiness of mushrooms pairs beautifully with the rich, savory taste of garlic and parmesan. The garlic adds a sharp, aromatic punch, while the parmesan brings a salty, nutty flavor. Together, they create a well-rounded taste that enhances the natural umami of the mushrooms.
Moisture Retention: The air fryer cooks food quickly at high temperatures, which helps retain the moisture inside the mushrooms. This ensures that the mushrooms remain juicy and flavorful rather than drying out, which can be a risk with other cooking methods.
Healthy Cooking Method: Air frying is a healthier alternative to deep-frying because it requires less oil, reducing the overall fat content of the dish. This makes the stuffed mushrooms a lighter option without sacrificing flavor or texture.
Ingredients
- 10-15 mushrooms
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4-5 garlic cloves (Minced)
- 1 shallot (Diced)
- 1/2 tablespoon of all purpose seasoning
- 8 ounces softened cream cheese
- ¼ cup of breadcrumbs
- ½ cup of grated parmesan (Save ¼ cup for the end)
- 2 tablespoons of dried parsley
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1/2 pound of ground Italian sausage (Optional)

Instructions
Preheat Your Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F(177°C), ensuring it reaches the perfect temperature for baking these delicious stuffed mushrooms.
Cook Your Sausage: Cook down your ground sausage till its cooked all the way through
Prepare the Mushrooms: Start by cutting the stems off each mushroom and finely chopping them. Set aside the mushroom caps for later use.

Sauté the Stems: Heat oil in a pan over high heat and cook the chopped mushroom stems with garlic and shallots until they’re fragrant and tender.
Season and Cook: Season the mixture with all-purpose seasoning and cook for approximately 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together beautifully.

Prepare the Filling: In a medium bowl, combine the cooked mushroom stems mixture with cream cheese, breadcrumbs, ¼ cup parmesan cheese, ground sausage, and parsley. Mix until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Season to Taste: Don’t forget to season the mixture with salt and pepper to suit your preferences, enhancing the overall flavor profile.

Assemble the Mushrooms: Place the mushroom caps upside down on a baking sheet, arranging them evenly. Spoon a generous amount of the cream cheese mixture onto each mushroom cap.
Top with Cheese: Sprinkle a little extra parmesan cheese on top of each stuffed mushroom, adding a delicious cheesy crust when baked.

Bake to Perfection: Bake or air fry the stuffed mushrooms in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese turns golden brown and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve: Once done, garnish the stuffed mushrooms with chopped parsley for a fresh burst of flavor and visual appeal. Now, indulge in these irresistible treats and enjoy every flavorful bite!

Air-fried garlic parmesan stuffed mushrooms work well for several reasons:
- Flavor Combination: The earthiness of mushrooms pairs beautifully with the rich, savory taste of garlic and parmesan. The garlic adds a sharp, aromatic punch, while the parmesan brings a salty, nutty flavor. Together, they create a well-rounded taste that enhances the natural umami of the mushrooms.
- Crispy Texture: Air frying allows the mushrooms to develop a crispy exterior without the need for excessive oil. This method gives the dish a satisfying crunch that contrasts nicely with the tender, juicy filling.
- Moisture Retention: The air fryer cooks food quickly at high temperatures, which helps retain the moisture inside the mushrooms. This ensures that the mushrooms remain juicy and flavorful rather than drying out, which can be a risk with other cooking methods.
- Even Cooking: The circulating hot air in an air fryer ensures that the mushrooms cook evenly. This means that the filling heats through thoroughly, and the mushrooms themselves cook just right, without becoming soggy or overcooked.
